Barin Sultani Haymon

Barin is an independent researcher/consultant whose work has primarily focused on Afghanistan, dealing with migration, security, social and economic issues. She recently authored a peer-reviewed policy research paper for WRN, titled The Cycle of Struggle: A Human Security Perspective on Afghanistan’s IDP Women, which was presented at Parliament. She previously co-authored a policy research paper which challenged the prevailing narratives around the Afghan refugee crisis, and has contributed a number of editorials to leading media publications such as the Independent, The Diplomat, and Gandhara (RFE/FL). Barin holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in International Studies from Emory University.
