    Fundraising Officer

Olivia Coghlan joined Afghan Connection in February 2017 to work on fundraising.  Her primary focus is to build relationships with charitable trusts and foundations and raise money for education and cricket projects in Afghanistan.  After gaining a BA in Russian and Spanish at Nottingham University, and subsequently an MSC in Development Studies at the LSE, she began working for DFID in London.  Here she led a team which worked on humanitarian and development programmes.  She worked closely with DFID’s key partners, namely the World Bank, UN organizations and NGOs, as well as national governments of countries affected by climate change and natural disasters.  She left DFID in 2010 when she and her husband moved to Bahrain where she had two children and learnt some Arabic.  She lived here for 5 years, moving back in 2015.
