Gained a Law Degree from Bristol University in 1987 and called to the Bar one year later. Joined Albion Chambers in Bristol and spent 11 years in a mixed criminal prosecution and defence practice. In 1999, made a significant career change by joining Deutsche Bank to work in their equities business. Enjoyed a 14 year career in the financial markets, with a final role being responsible for JP Morgan’s equities business in Europe, Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa. Educated at Bradfield College, spent several years as Chair of the College’s Foundation (fundraising trust) and as a member of the Governing body – before taking up the role of Bursar in September 2013. A lifetime love of, and fascination by, education (mother was a headmistress) has resulted in seats on the governing body of a leading preparatory school (Lambrook) and the advisory board of Beech Lodge school. Married with two sons – a passionate devotee of family, friends, rugby, skiing and golf, with an eclectic taste in music, film and theatre.
